Redesigned in chic white, rich opalescent blue, refined black and lustrous turquoise the new editions of the Sedan Clock incorporate luxury watch-standard faces: textured, and adorned with finely crafted details.

Part of the Grand Sedan’s appeal lies in its proportions, and the combination of a minimal footprint and expansive face. Engineered with a domed lens, the body of the clock is a satisfyingly ergonomic discus with a mirror-polished reverse, suspended from a simple, subtly adorned stand.

It consisted of a leather-covered box carried on two poles, and proved invaluable for those travelling to social occasions in their finery – in the days when pavements were a luxury, and city roads liable to be covered in mud. They began to fall out of fashion in the early 19th Century, with the rise of the more comfortable Hackney carriage.
